wrinkles, bags and bloodshot eyes from (name withheld of course), visual
effects touch nearly all areas and levels of production.

Mahler, founder of IslandFX has nearly twenty years of experience in digital
production and computer animation. He has won many national awards for
his work in visual effects.

But
what does a visual effects artist do? First and foremost - provide solutions
- resolve problems in imagery, color, composition, continuity, motion,
budget(!) - providing whatever is necessary to translate abstract concepts
into evocative, informative imagery. That could mean saving shots from
being cut because they are either too expensive or dangerous to shoot
live; or designing a graphic environment and title treatments adding cohesion
to a production.
