Today we
are a group of twelve dedicated individuals who are following
in the foot steps of our founder Blessed Frederic Ozanam, who
started the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Paris, France
in 1833. Today, the Society is an international organization
with over one million members world-wide. Frederic believed
that the creation of the Society was a gift from God so that
the work of feeding the hungary, clothing the naked and many
other forms of charity would allow those attracted to the Society
to see Jesus in the poor of the world.

We
serve those in need within our Parish boundaries regardless
of their race, ethnic origin or religious affiliation. We respond
with home visits, bringing food and offering assistance with
clothing, furniture, paying heating and other bills with money
as far as our funds will allow.
We distribute
Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets to those we have helped throughout
the year. Our ministry at St. Francis would not be able to function
without the continued support and generosity of our fellow parishioners
and friends who support the monthly food collection on Sundays
and contribute to the poor boxes. We are always seeking new
members willing to make a committment to this special ministry.
Our main
source of revenue comes from the Poor Boxes in the church. Help
us to help our own needy. Any contribution is greatly appreciated!
FOR ASSISTANCE,
PLEASE CALL THE RECTORY OFFICE AT (631) 651-2655. (Assistance
given within parish boundaries).
